Our School Meals
At Valley Primary Academy, our school meals are freshly prepared on site and provided by SwiftKitchen.
Children can enjoy a choice of nutritious and delicious meals each day, including hot meal options, vegetarian choices, pasta dishes and desserts. Menus are carefully planned to provide a balanced diet, with options available to meet a wide range of dietary and allergy requirements.
Ordering School Meals
All school meals must be ordered through the SwiftKitchen online ordering system or App.
Meals for children in Year 3 and above are charged at £2.58 per day unless you are entitled to free school meals.
To order meals, please log in to your SwiftKitchen account.

Healthy Packed Lunches
Children are also welcome to bring a packed lunch from home.
As a school, we promote healthy eating and are proud to be a nut-free school. We therefore ask that packed lunches do not contain:
- Nuts or products containing nuts
- Fizzy drinks
- Chocolate
- Sweets
Children are also welcome to bring in their own packed lunch from home.
Spring-Summer 2026 Menu’s
Registering for SwiftKitchen
Once your child has been offered a place at Valley Primary Academy, you will be issued with a unique Swift Key. This key is required to register for your SwiftKitchen account and link your child to our school.
Once registered, you will be able to:
- Order your child’s school meals.
- View the daily menus.
- Manage dietary requirements and allergies (where applicable).
- Make payments for school meals (where required).
If you have not received your Swift Key or require any assistance registering your account, please contact the school office. Mr Pope will be happy to help.
Free school meals
All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal each day under the Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) scheme. There is no need to apply for these meals.
School meals are nutritious, balanced and freshly prepared, helping children to stay healthy and ready to learn throughout the school day.
Changes to Free School Meals – September 2026
From September 2026, changes to the Free School Meals eligibility criteria mean that more families may now qualify for means-tested Free School Meals.
Even if your child receives Universal Infant Free School Meals, or you have applied previously and were unsuccessful, we strongly encourage all parents and carers to check their eligibility and submit a new application.
If your application is successful, it could provide additional funding for your child and for the school through the Pupil Premium, helping us to provide extra support and resources to enhance your child’s education.
